Career and Technical Education (CTE)
The Career and Technical Education Program is preparing the students of East Chicago Central High School for life beyond graduation. With passion and purpose, the experienced instructors and dedicated staff at EC Central provide students with meaningful opportunities to achieve their goals and be college and career ready upon graduation.
Students learn from professionals in their fields as they explore career options, build a work ethic, prepare for life in a global economy and, in many cases, earn industry certifications and college credit while still in high school. Students have may choose from ten career pathways and are engaged in a rigorous curriculum to gain a broad academic knowledge base. We deliver hands-on classroom experience in each career path through partnerships with local universities, colleges, and career centers as well as job shadowing and internships.
